About Us

A Growing Seed Academy is a family-owned childcare center founded by Melissa Deacon, PA, alongside her husband, Jermaine Deacon, MD. Built on a foundation of faith, family, and service, A Growing Seed Academy was created to provide a nurturing, family-centered environment rooted in Christian values of patience, kindness, and love.

Through both personal and professional experience, Melissa understands the challenges that many hardworking families, especially healthcare professionals, EMS/fire rescue personnel, law enforcement officers, and other shift workers—face when searching for dependable, high-quality childcare that accommodates demanding schedules. As a certified Physician Assistant and mother of three, she has personally experienced the difficulty of balancing long hours and nontraditional shifts with limited childcare options.

Inspired by these experiences and being commissioned by Christ, Melissa established A Growing Seed Academy to help bridge that gap within the community. Their mission is to support each child’s growth in a loving and joyful atmosphere while promoting health and wellness through wholesome, nutritious meals.

Real Food For growing minds

Aside from safety and education, a healthy environment for every child is one of our highest priorities. Nutrition shapes growth, behavior, learning, and overall well-being.

Provide fresh fruits and healthy meal options daily

Avoid processed foods, fried foods, canned foods, preservatives, and high fructose corn syrup

Promote healthy eating habits that support learning, memory, mood, and behavior

Encourage whole-body wellness through nutritious, balanced meals

Serve children “real food” that nurtures both their minds and bodies
